November is National Native American Heritage Month

National Native American Heritage Month is celebrated in November to honor the rich history, culture, and traditions of Native American and Alaska Native communities. The month also recognizes the contributions of Native American veterans and promotes understanding of their resilience and ongoing challenges. It began as a week-long observance in 1976 and expanded to a whole month in 1990.
