MVSD Board of Directors recognized as Board of Distinction

MVSD Board of Directors recognized as Board of Distinction We are proud to share that the Mount Vernon School District Board of Directors has been named a 2026 Board of Distinction by the Washington State School Directors’ Association (WSSDA)! This marks an incredible 15 consecutive years of receiving this recognition.
This honor recognizes school boards that demonstrate outstanding leadership, a commitment to student success, and meaningful progress toward district goals. In recognizing our board, WSSDA highlighted its commitment to turning our Strategic Plan into meaningful action, including the expansion of Dual Language pathways,
increased FAFSA/WASFA completion, strengthened student voice through board representation and Senior Exit
Interviews, and significant gains in multilingual learner proficiency.

These accomplishments reflect our district's continued focus on belonging, equity, academic excellence, and preparing students for success beyond graduation. Our Board of Directors will be formally recognized at WSSDA's annual conference in Spokane on November 19, 2026.

Congratulations to our Board of Directors! Thank you for your continued leadership, dedication, and commitment to ensuring every student has the opportunity to belong, dream, and achieve. We are grateful for the time, energy, and passion you bring to serving our students, staff, families, and community!
