Skagit Academy offers an alternative pathway to a high school diploma — flexible, supportive, and built around what works for our students. Our team partners closely with each student and their family to design a course of study that leads to graduation and beyond.

Our Programs

Skagit Academy provides families with flexible educational choices to gain knowledge and skills that meet the goals set out by teachers, parents, and students while preparing each student for responsible and productive citizenship.

Learning Center (LC)

  • Grades K-4 students participate in onsite ELA (English Language Arts) and math courses, including weekly at-home schoolwork assigned by the teacher and guided by parents. Weekly assignment sheets are distributed and collected weekly, along with completed assignments.
  • Grades K-8 students have a certificated teacher as an educational resource for establishing learning goals and curriculum options for remote learning opportunities.
  • Grades K-8 LC students may enroll in K-8 onsite elective courses on Monday and Thursday afternoons. These classes do not include at-home work.
  • Approximate enrollment: 135 students

Preparatory Academy (PREP)

  • Grades 5/6 students participate in four onsite core-content courses two days per week, including weekly at-home schoolwork assigned by the teacher and guided by parents. Weekly assignment sheets are distributed and collected weekly, along with completed assignments.
  • PREP students have a grade-level certificated advisor.
  • PREP students may enroll in K-8 onsite elective courses on Monday and Thursday afternoons. These classes do not include at-home work.
  • Approximate enrollment: 45 students

Academy (AC)

  • Grades 7-12 students participate in onsite academic classes on Tuesdays and Fridays, including weekly at-home schoolwork assigned by the teacher and guided by parents. Weekly assignment sheets are distributed and collected weekly, along with completed assignments.
  • High school students have elective courses on Wednesday mornings, including weekly at-home schoolwork assigned by the teacher and guided by parents.
  • Grades 7/8 students may enroll in K-8 onsite elective courses on Monday and Thursday afternoons. These classes do not include at-home work.
  • Approximate enrollment: 120 students
